Wild Crafted // Canyon Coffee

Labor of love does not even begin to cover it where Canyon Coffee is concerned.  Started by Ally Walsh and Casey Wojtalewicz, a coffee loving couple that are basically the epitome of relationship goals, Canyon's goal is to share the love from start to finish.  The company is built on the foundation of their shared passion for coffee, a passion that has brought them to coffee shops and coffee farms around the world to ensure that they are sourcing the highest quality organic beans and sustaining its farmers.  They launched in September to immediate success proving the adage that what is done in love is done well.  As I've mentioned before, Canyon Coffee is a non-negotiable part of my daily ritual so I'm very happy to give you guys the chance to get to know the couple behind the brand.

Name // Ally Walsh & Casey Wojtalewicz

Sign // Ally: Virgo Sun, Aries Moon. Casey: Cancer Sun, Virgo Moon.

What do you make // Organic Coffee Beans.

When did you start // We came up with the idea in March and launched in September.

Advice to someone just starting out // Sit down, and make a big chart of what you want your life to look like. Then, make sure every step you take only brings you closer to that world. Let what comes out on the page inform what it is you “do.” This is how we started Canyon.

Also—everything you need, you already have. Don’t let your life or your dreams hinge on “this” or “that” happening or waiting for someone to stop by your house with a magic wand to grant you three wishes. You have your own power. Use that to begin.

What is your favorite creation // We’re really proud of Canyon Coffee. It’s something we made out of love, with each other. It’s honest, and we’re so happy and proud of how it’s been received. It feels very much in the flow.

Where do you find inspiration // Solitude, idle time, nature, and friends.

Do you have any creative rituals // For both of us, our creative rituals involve carving out time to simply sit in front of our tools and see what comes out. It could be journaling, writing a poem, an essay, making a collage, or making a song. The creativity ebbs and flows, but it’s important to keep giving yourself space for the ritual.

Can you share a recipe that fuels your creativity // Make a rule that you have to create, finish and share something every day for at least three days (a week is better). It could be a song, a drawing, a poem—whatever.  This recipe will stimulate your creativity and push you to see an idea through from inspiration to a finished version. We all have loads of ideas, but how many actually come to fruition? It can be difficult for us to move things from the meta- to the physical realm. This rule helps you get used to breaking down that wall, and comfortable with “letting go” of and finishing your creations. Even by the end of three days, you’ll be amazed at how much you learn and how creative you really are. AND you’ll have three works of art to see your progress and be proud of!
